J. Lindeberg presents 20th Anniversary collection

The mundane rules of what you can or cannot wear within the golfing arena often adds a level of reluctance from new players taking up the sport. This is not to say that good golfing sportswear doesn’t exist within the traditional big brand sector – yet these performance based ensembles cater more for the up and coming pro.

Notably more design driven, J.Lindeberg takes the iconic sport into its own sphere – opting for silhouettes that maximise positive perception, yet provide the perfect base for all tiers of golfing competitors.

Released as part of the brands 20th Anniversary the collection aims to challenge those within the community with its overt yet progressive shapes and motifs.

“I was obsessed by this idealistic thought, to enter a traditional and conservative environment with new modern ideas. I thought if I can change these conservative business minds, and get them into to fitted clothes, maybe they are more likely to take other modern decisions…”~ J Lindeberg

What is evident about the idea is that Johan Lindeberg’s affiliation with the sport is far from disingenuous. The brand dressed Jesper Parnevik for Bob Hope in 1997 and continues to use this as a source of inspiration for forthcoming ideas. Fusing functionality with idealism which in turn creates moments where formality can always be challenged.
