Inspired by the timeless allure of games, magic and mystery, the collection debuted at the January 2016 Maison & Objet. A mélange of fine textures and finishes, L’OBJET have unveiled its latest collection, Smoke + Mirrors. The new pieces express a more playful side of L’OBJET, using a variety of materials in unexpected combinations.
Featuring natural shell inlays, antiqued brass, ebonized mahogany (L’OBJET’s first use of wood), along with the brand’s signature Limoges porcelain, the juxtaposition of materials gives an alternate dimension to the varied and whimsically themed collection.
At the crux of the collection are meticulously handcrafted games such as Tic Tac Toe and Dominos, coupled with chic crocodile cases containing playing cards and decorative dice, fashioned from antiqued brass.
A particular highlight are the textured white rabbit sculptures, accented with 24K gold ears and hand-sculpted using the highest quality porcelain, reifying the magical theme of the collection.
