I take great satisfaction in seeing brands that I’ve independently enjoyed in some guise, work together. It’s a bit like when you introduce two friends from different friendship groups, and they actually get along.
“Aston, meet my good friend Glen, I think you guys will get on”, and then whisper in Aston’s ear “and it’s fair to say he knows a thing or two about whisky”.
And of course there is the sense of validation that comes with it, the public acknowledgement of an alliance that your inherent taste already saw coming—at least that’s how my internal dialogue played out, as I took stock of what is set to be a potentially powerful partnership.

While we await the arrival of the next Bond franchise, Aston Martin have wasted no time expanding their offering over the past few years with 2025 being particularly notable, marking arrival of the lighter, snappier DBX successor, the DBX S. In addition, the Vantage S has also been reimagined and unleashed in 2025, along with the much-anticipated Vantage Roadster convertible. When you add to this their burgeoning presence in Formula One, life is looking rosy over at Aston Martin, and while the same can’t be said for the Single Malt sector, Glenfiddich’s position as the Founding Fathers of the category leaves no debate as to their credentials.
The common ground between the brands needs little imagination to uncover; both processes require great patience, skill and precision to create products that are—and have always been—globally renowned for their character and personality as much as their quality:
“Aston Martin and Glenfiddich are united by a deep respect for heritage and a commitment to craftsmanship. This partnership allows us to bring our shared story to life through immersive, sensory, and emotional experiences that resonate with our customers. Both brands are globally celebrated yet proudly rooted in British history, creating a true balance of tradition and innovation.”
Stefano Saporetti, Director of Brand Diversification, Aston Martin
Another point of harmonic alignment, the brands share a lauded British heritage, each having shaped the notion of luxury on the isles in their respective ways.

What better way to celebrate the launch than for Glenfiddich to do what they do best, delve into the archives to uncover a unique expression, one that captures the emotion and significance of the moment. For that Malt Master Brian Kinsman selected a rare single malt, laid to cask in 1976 and aged for 48 years. The whisky was finished in a hand-selected specially coopered European oak sherry cask, giving the liquid a transient smoothness for which sherry casks are renowned.
“This exceptional cask was not selected for its vintage year alone, but for the era it represents; the transformative mid-1970s, a defining period that marked the beginning of Glenfiddich’s modern era and helped shape the whisky’s character for generations to come. Nearly 50 years later, we continue to honour that legacy, staying true to the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that helped make Glenfiddich the renowned Single Malt it is today – qualities that perfectly embody our new partnership with Aston Martin.”

The unveiling of this celebratory liquid will fittingly take place at The House of Aston Martin during Monterey Car Week, where Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid supercar— Valhalla—will also share centre stage. With only 50 bottles available worldwide and availability exclusively through The Distillers Library and The Glenfiddich Distillery, you’ll need an Aston Martin get there fast enough, and then probably need to sell said Aston Martin to buy it—a truly fluid partnership.
Both Glenfiddich and Aston look forward to exploring how the partnership can continue to reinforce the positive choice to never drink and drive.
