Men’s fragrance has become all the more a competitive segment with a significant increase in the variety of fragrant options and our (mens) increasing collective understanding of fragrance. Gone are the days where you could categorise the majority of male consumers within the remit of the ten leading scents; todays man is much more selectively individual about their chosen fragrance.

This is great news, as this increased competition only bodes well for the consumer – we now not only have more choice, but more quality too. That said, you will still require the power of discernment to ‘smell’ them out.

A testament to this commitment to quality Paco Rabanne spent over 2 years developping their latest scent and required over 5,000 fragrances to reach the final product – nothing was ‘skimped’ during this process, that much is certain. And what’s more, it shows – the resulting fragrance is a balance between the commercial and the niche, between a summer and a winter scent, and finally between a modern fragrance and a traditional cologne.

Developed by perfumer Veronique Nyberg – and Entitled INVICTUS – Paco Rabanne’s latest scent uses a two-layered scent entity instead of the usual pyramid construction; making the finished product a fresh woody scent with a hint of spice.

THE INVICTUS SCENT

The new INVICTUS fragrance is vibrant and refreshing with a composition of Marine accord, Grapefruit zest and Bay leaf. The additional ingredients of Woody amber accord, Guaiac wood, Ambergris and Patchouli gives an light yet inherently masculine identity.

The INVICTUS bottle was designed by Cedric Ragot into a silhouette embodying success; the triumphant shape of a trophy  emphasising the fantasy of a (sporting) victory.
