EVO
by Cambridge Audio
The Evo by Cambridge Audio acts as both a timeless centrepiece and cutting edge all-in-one hi-fi sound system.
Taking design cues from Cambridge Audio’s first ever product – the P40 – its 1968 roots are readily apparent. Rich walnut panelling and a slick anodised aluminium cabinet give way to a customisable Richlite finish. This new material is made from recycled paper and can be switched out as per your aesthetic preference. In the spirit of that 60s boldness, a chunky rotary dial takes up a sizable portion of the fascia; alongside a 6.8 inch LCD display panel.
Eye-catching design is, of course, trifling if the technology isn’t there to back it up. Cambridge Audio has managed to pull off the uncanny feat of distilling five decades of audio expertise into one piece hi-fi. Evo uses high quality components and is powered by a revolutionary Hypex NCore® Class D amplification, which reproduces every detail in your music while remaining compact and energy efficient. Expect abject clarity and industry leading performance from the lows, through the mids and all the way up to the high frequencies.
The genius of the Evo is in its platform support. There’s nothing worse than needless roadblocks in technology and the Evo opens itself up seamlessly for ultimate plug-and-play convenience: a built-in moving magnet phono stage for compatible turntables, an asynchronous USB audio input, balanced XLR inputs, a 3.5mm headphone socket, built-in aptX HD Bluetooth capability and two sets of speaker terminals for running two pairs of speakers. The Evo also runs all music streaming services and crossing platforms is a breeze.
