With an emphasis on outerwear Mackintosh most recent offering naturally plays to the brands strengths. Featuring a selection of overcoats, macs and cropped jackets, it most certainly embraced the elements that had proved pivotal over the years, yet chose to explore the use of different fabrics – elevating it stylistically.
Denim was key to this change, offering a relaxed translation to the some of the looks while a collaboration with Japanese brand Porter on bags and backpacks demonstrated a wearability to its ensembles.
Palette was also key to this perception with the clean whites, muted browns and chambrays being seen throughout. Simple yet thought out in both presentation and composition of looks Mackintosh demonstrated a sense of practicality not often seen in what can the exuberant world of menswear. A nod to those who seek a straightforward approach.
