Galamb Bespoke Tailoring

Galamb Bespoke Tailoring

For many sectors branding is the life essence, but for tailoring brands particular it has become a much debated topic of late, with the changing face of Savile Row and the resurgence of tailoring on the High Street, turning once was an investment into a sartorial version of “having a fling”. Even cornerstone of heritage tailoring Brioni has rewritten the “Creative Director” handbook with their (short-lived) appointment of the polarizing Justin O’Shea.

So when I came across this branding for Hungarian Bespoke Tailor, Galamb, it was reassuring to see a mixture of cultivated intrigue yet executed with respect to tailoring heritage that – with respect – I believe in fact Brioni were trying to achieve. Yes, there is this dark, moody modern clean edginess, but the underlying core function of the brand is never lost, nor compromised in the design.

Even the logo was reworked to include reference to their previous store on Budapest’s Galamb St – ‘galamb’ means ‘dove’ in Hungarian.

The branding was undertaken by Kevin Harald Campean and DekoRatio Branding & Design Studio, who were tasked with rebranding the one hundred year old, custom-made tailor shop in Budapest, Hungary.

“I think the most important element for a company’s branding is to create a unique brand essence and apply it to every single touch point.”

A task they relished and accomplished with aplomb; a demonstration in branding expertise to tailoring brands across the globe.
