B&O Play | Beoplay P2

B&O Play | Beoplay P2

One great thing about the modern concept of luxury is that it revolves more around experiences than the mundane acquisition of goods – and brands are recognising that. Bang & Olufsen have always been a brand synonymous with the super affluent but the Danish audio design company are not only growing upwards with intelligent stylistic technological advancements, but in an all-encompassing move, they are lowering the entry price point too.

In a ‘Patek Philippe’ mantra type move that connects the generations – Father with son, Mother with daughter – this new selection of Beoplay products allows the next generation to experience the B&O signature sound for themselves, and better yet in the way they can most enjoy it.

The new P2 takes the travel ethic captured by the Beoplay A1 one step further by downsizing the device and adding a variety of features set to “empower the transformation of everyday moments” as they quite rightly put it.

“The closer a product gets to the body, the more refined and detailed it should be. Beoplay P2 is smooth and desirable, a compact with great sound and a companion wherever you go” ~ Cecilie Manz, B&O Play Designer

Featuring premium materials such as pearl-blasted aluminium and real leather, the Beoplay P2 features the same B&O 360-degree audio dispersion that the brand has become synonymous with. Reducing the Bang & Olufsen technology to pocket size while maintaining optimal functionality was no easy task, so they decided to opt for a gesture control system so now with just a double tap or shake, you can play, pause and skip track or perhaps even launch your favourite personal assistant or change sound profile in ToneTouch.

Not just for the social user, the B&O Play P2 speaker can be used as a professional conferencing device with a built-in microphone for making conference calls and a leather sleeve for transportation.

Whichever way you look at it, the Beoplay P2 is a welcome addition to the range and at £149 (rrp) it’s hard to see this one not being a hit.

Beoplay P2 comes in Black, Sand Stone and Royal Blue and is available for a suggested retail price of £149.
