Designers Agi & Sam never fail to impress with a collection that is as coherent as it is directional, and for their Spring Summer 2017, they did not disappoint. Entitled “PAUL” this collection represented their investigation into the role of the modern man, and as such the main focus is the House-husband.
“Growing up in rural Warwickshire, Sam’s father held down the role of being a Farmer and simultaneously a house-husband, while his mother worked away in the City. This prompted an observation into this polar difference of social norms, whereby the general household situation has been subverted”
As always, hair style is key in completing the message of any look – be it intentional or not. The exciting thing about modern hair styling is that individualism is rife, with interpretation rather than replication of classic styles taking centre stage. Global Creative Director for Lynx Hair Styling, Kieron Webb embraced this theme, using the latest selection of LYNX products to create variety of styles, working with each model’s unique look.
“Working with Agi & Sam’s house husband theme, I created a 50’s tailored vibe with an element of a modern, f*cked up twist. It’s basically “business” in the front and “party” in the back, reflecting the tailored elements of the SS17 Collection, as well as Agi & Sam’s play on layering and textures.”

While the collection a visual confirmation of Agi & Sam’s transition from protagonists to mainstays, the hairstyles reaffirmed the resurgence of LYNX and the brand’s importance to this new generation of groomers.
As you watched the foray of colours, acidic floral weaves, ginghams and pinstripes paraded down the catwalk, crowned with the mastery Kieron Webb, you couldn’t help but be mesmerised and impressed in equal measure at the boldness of style and elegant composition of AGI & SAM‘s creative vision. Being a house-husband may not be such a bad thing after all.
