Moncler Grenoble AW 13: The Inner Forest

Moncler Grenoble AW 13: The Inner Forest

The first Moncler Grenoble1 collection was birthed in New York 2010  giving rise to a new arm of the aspirational ski-wear brand; one that reinterpreted past Moncler styles with a contemporary take wearable both on and off piste. This fusion of après-ski wear with day-to-day created a range garments representing the highest technical coefficient, while still remaining stylish and refreshingly unique.

For the Autumn Winter ’13 season, Moncler chose to unveil their Grenoble collection with a spectacular showcase – now a signature of the brand – in the cupola of Gotham Hall during New York Fashion Week.  Entitled “The Inner Forest” 370 male and female models filled the venue, encircling the show space creating an almost “Amazonian” effect. As the name suggests, green is the dominating colour visible throughout the garments in a cohesive variety of earthly hues.

“It is the green of the trees that bring to life Alpine peaks where wind, sky, snow and ice reign supreme.” – MONCLER

The garments themselves are reflective of René Ramillon’s legacy; filled with Down from Perigord and Brittany, with a combination of diamond and patterned quilting to form the modern silhouettes and styling signature of the Moncler Grenoble range.

Along with Thom Browne’s directional Moncler Gamme Bleu range, Grenoble shows another side to Moncler’s growing repertoire as they continue to reinvent the way we perceive Ski-wear and the use of Down.
