MB&F Sherman Robot Clock

MB&F Sherman Robot Clock

Just because you can make something doesn’t mean you should – but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you shouldn’t either. That is certainly the case with this latest carnation of the MB&F Robot clock. Called Sherman, the robot clock serves no further purpose than to tell the time and be… well, aesthetically pleasing, romantically captivating and emotionally rewarding.

The antithesis of combining something so premium with the embodiment of childhood comes from of Maximilian Büsser and his on-going quest to revive a youthful dream of having a robot friend.

Sherman’s mechanics are based on a L’Epée 1839 in-line eight-day movement, which ensures that the friendly tank-treaded table clock can display the correct time on his chest for more than a week before requiring rewinding.

A transparent dome reveals Sherman’s mechanical brain, which is actually the regulator controlling the accuracy of the robot’s time. His arms can be manipulated to hold items, and his rubber caterpillar tracks are fully functional and capable of circumnavigating your office desk – with a bit of help of course.

Sherman was conceived and developed by MB&F and engineered and crafted by L’Epée 1839 – Switzerland’s only specialised high-end clock manufacturer.

Look at the clock and any trepidation and time pressure is alleviated by the beautifully humourous and nostalgic appearance of Sherman. Beats a paperweight any day.
